What is GALA?

Gala is the annual formal event hosted by the Wayne State University School of Medicine Student Senate. It is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the entire WSUSOM community to enjoy a festive evening with fellow classmates, faculty, and alumni.  Gala is a night of dinner, drinks, the presentation of the WSU SOM Student Senate Alumni Appreciation Award, as well as the Golden Gala Awards to an outstanding student, faculty and staff member. The night ends with dancing and socializing long into the evening hours.

Golden Apple Award

The WSU SOM Student Senate Alumni Appreciation Award is our way of trying to recognize an alumnus each year that has generously invested a great deal of time and knowledge back into the school. Alumni support of student endeavors and education is incredibly important both now, and to the future of our school. We appreciate all that the Alumni of Wayne State University School of Medicine have done to support our education.
